SAP (News - Alert) AG has licensed the JDBC Driver for SalesForce.com from Simba (News - Alert) Technologies, the company has announced.

SAP BusinessObjects BI OnDemand is a business intelligence solution in a software-as-a-service (SaaS (News - Alert)) model that can start to be used it in minutes. It offers total, integrated business intelligence that enhances the reporting and analysis of data in the Salesforce CRM application. It also allows sales professionals to explore, report, and share data in the cloud anytime.

Simba's JDBC Driver for SalesForce.com helps the users to connect to SalesForce.com as it is a standards-based JDBC interface. With the help of Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), various applications written in Java can be connected to data in popular databases.

The users can also encode access request statements in Structured Query Language (SQL) with the help of this interface. Now, SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) OnDemand solution will be connected to Simba's JDBC Driver for SalesForce.com, the company stated in a press release.

“Simba's JDBC Driver for SalesForce.com enables SAP BusinessObjects BI OnDemand to connect to SalesForce.com data via standard JDBC,” said Amyn Rajan, Simba's CEO. “The JDBC driver connects to SalesForce.com via the SalesForce Web Services API - directly serving up a user's CRM data for interactive, cloud-based analysis and reporting. The solution makes it easier to access information and eliminates the cost and complexity of finding workarounds to improve reporting performance.”

Recently, the company licensed its MDX Provider for Oracle (News - Alert) OLAP software product to Essatto Software. As a result of the agreement, Essatto will now sell Simba's MDX Provider with its range of BI solutions.

An Essatto framework built upon an Oracle Database platform will now be connected to Microsoft (News - Alert) Excel through Simba's MDX Provider, enabling the customers to view and edit financial analyses report generated.
